First Latin American Congress of Women in Bioinformatics and Data Science - Virtual Edition 2020
Deadline for submissions: 1 July 2020
The Latin American Congress of Women in Bioinformatics and Data Science is a community and non-profit meeting, aiming at promoting and making visible the research carried out by women in the fields of Bioinformatics and Data Science. It also seek to create networking and collaboration within the community of women scientists.
This congress will bring together researchers from Latin America who work in the areas of systems biology, omics technologies, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, data mining and high-performance computing with applications in biology and the public and private sectors.
The COVID-19 pandemic has made a face-to-face meeting model unfeasible, as the authorities have imposed travel restrictions and physical estrangement that are increasingly strict and for an indeterminate time. In this time of uncertainty, the organisers seek to turn the crisis into an opportunity. This is why the organising committee of the 1st Latin American Congress of Women in Bioinformatics and Data Sciences has decided that the best option is to move to a virtual version of the congress.
